Learn the fundamentals of the use & application of herbs, the operation of a medicinal herb farm, and the synthesis of traditional Chinese, Ayurvedic, & Western herbal traditions in innovative internship programs with an emphasis on creating a sustainable, non-toxic, and cost-effective community-based healthcare system.
Our goal is to provide a source for medicinal plant preparations of the highest quality and crafted with the greatest care and attention to detail. These products reflect our belief that the health of individuals and communities are inextricably linked to the health of our ecosystem.
In early May of this year, the seed of our 2009 Nettles harvest was donated to the Sudanese humanitarian group, Hope for Ariang. Dedicated to supporting the health and education of Sudanese affected by the current conflict, the director saw the women of the resettled villages afflicted by anemia and reproductive issues due to a lack of iron, which nettles are a highly assimilable source of. The seeds will soon be transported to the villages of the Sudan where they will be a sustaining resource for years to come as well as fueling our mission of a grassroots herbal healthcare revolution for all!
We are teaming up with the California based Floracopeia, Inc. to create a line of high quality, micro-distilled essential oils, created in small batches from the forests and farms of Western Mass.
Our services are available to Herbalists, Chiropractors, Acupuncturists, Physicians, etc, who wish to create individualized formulas for their patients, yet do not have access to an extensive materia medica. Here, practitioners can draw from our wide selection of Chinese, Western, and Ayurvedic herbs and formulas as well as custom blends created to your specifications.
This season we are proud to announce that we will be working in collaboration with Nuestras Raices on a series of grassroots herbal medicine projects. The projects will focus on the integration of herbs and herbal education into the already thriving farms and gardens within the Nuestras Raices community.
• Herbal CSA shares
Modeled after the now familiar concept of the Vegetable CSA, the Herbal CSA provides an opportunity to collaborate with the growers of medicinal plants. A share purchase helps support the work growing/processing and in return the buyer receives a variety of herb products that support good health, the health of the environment, and preserving the agricultural character of our wonderful community. Shareholders are encouraged to visit the farm to see where their medicine is coming from.
